Vostro 3560 Fingerprint Reader not working after Windows 10 Upgrade

One of the things not working on my Dell 3560 after upgrade from Win7 to Win10 is the inbuilt fingerprint scanner used both for User signin identification and also for easy opening of web sites.

After my Win10 upgrade, I have installed all Dell Support site driver updates for Win10 including their Validity Fingerprint Sensor Driver (v4.5.289.0 (A00) July 08 2015)

I have also uninstalled and then reinstalled the digitalPersona fingerprint software using original disk supplied with original Dell 3560.

But no actions seems to work and still the enroll fingerprints error message always is "fingerprint reader is not connected - connect the reader"

Anyone else seen or having this error post Win10 upgrade, or have a solution? Thx

I have been able to get the fingerprint reader/scanner working on my Vostro 3560 ... but ONLY for signin verification at startup. Not yet for opening websites using fingerprint scan verification, as I had previously working well under old Win7.

I suspect it is because DigitalPersona has withdrawn from the personal pc fingerprint scanning market in the last 2 or 3 years. And no-one has stepped in to supply a valid driver / software update to work in a Windows 10 environment.

Unless anyone knows different, or better ..........  ???

Hi all,

This problem also occurs with me.

Lap Vostro 5480 upgrade from win8.1 to win10

(In Win8.1, the fingerprint reader driver is OK with "DigitalPersona.FingerPrint.Software_update_v6.1.2_x64")

Pls, give me a solution. Thx

Try this one:

Is for 3560, but maybe works.

I have already tried this one. My problem appeared after a Windows 10 fresh install. DigitalPersona and the sensor were working perfectly after upgrade.

Sensor is working since I was able to use the Windows Hello feature with fingerprints. Looks like the problem is on the DigitalPersona side. Unfortunately, I got used to it to provide easy access to my password protected private keys, sites login, etc.

Keep looking for solution...

I'm using Windows 8's driver (2.1.0.3) for fingerprint reader (Vostro 356) and it works with Digital Persona 6 in Windows 10.
