Why is my $4000.00 StudioXPS falling apart!?!
So I have been a Dell customer for close to 10 years. Had an old Inspiron 8200 for most of that time and it was amazing. The only issue i had was a battery that needed to be replaced after about 5 years. I was very happy.
So when i needed a new laptop in December of 2009, I decided to stay with Dell and ordered a Studio XPS 16(specs below). Because of my exceptional experience with my Inspiron 8200 I decided not to extend the one year warranty. BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE!!!
I take excellent care of my lap top.
After my one year warranty expired I have replaced:
- My keyboard - half of the keys stopped working.
- My charger - stopped working.
Now my LCD monitor has stopped working. The video card is fine, I can plug in an external monitor and all is fine.
So I called Dell and a new LCD will cost me over $1,000.00.
Shame on me for not getting an extended warranty for a $4000.00 lap top.
SHAME ON DELL FOR SELLING ME A LEMON OF A COMPUTER!!
I have had a Mac desk top for 3 years now. Not a single problem. Ever.
Time for a change, Dell has lost my business after this expensive, abysmal laptop.

Dell Studio xps 16 is a lemon!
I have 5 Dell laptops but I've never had a lemon like the Studio xps 16!
I have had nothing but problems with my Studio xps 16.
It has virtually had every part replaced at least once - sometimes twice. Repairs seem to work for at the Max 9 months at the minimum a few hours (as in yesterday for 4 hours after the repair guy fixed it).
