Windows 8 VM

Hi,

I have a question regarding windows 8 dell laptop? Some of the softwares are still not supported by windows 8 and only work with Windows 7. If I buy  a Windows 8 laptop , I'm sure windows 7 can be run on a VM. My question is, Does windows 7 installables come pre-built with all Dell windows 8 laptops? or Do I have to buy a windows 7 CD separate?

Thanks for any help!

To run Hyper-V (the replacement for Windows 7 Virtual PC), you need Windows 8 Pro and a processor compatible with Hyper-V requrements (you will not get these in a budget-line notebook such as a most Insprions).

You do indeed need a Windows 7 license to run 7 under 8 (unlike WIndows 7, which included XP Mode, Windows 8 does not include the client license).
