Wireless-N on Dell Inspiron 1545

I have a Inspiron 1545 fitted with a Dell-1397 802.11b/g half mini-card. My wireless network has now been upgraded to support Wireless-N. Looking at the upgrades all the stated min-cards are not compatible with a 1545! but other conflicting reports on the web say that the 1505 can be fitted.

Whats true , and if 1505 is not compatible whats the best card to replace the existing 1397.

Since the internal antenna - -which is not replaceable - is not designed for N, you may want to consider using an Express Card N adapter, which will have its own antenna.  Otherwise, you may find that the signal quality is not as good as it should be.

DW1510 wireless adapter and DW1515, both a/b/g/n compatible work in the Inspiron 1545. I have them. You can get a refurbished one from Dell for just over $28 total, or Ebay for $14.99 total. I know because I have an Inspiron  1545 with a 1397 and have both the DW1515 and DW1510 cards. Have had no trouble with the DW1515. I have not installed the 1510, although both are recommended by Dell.BTW .....easy install, just don't drop the 2 screws in the laptop.

Old question but for those looking now. Dell DW1510 or 1515 are compatible. I use the 1515, no issues.
