XP 64-bit drivers for Inspiron 1501 with AMD Athlon X2??
Ok, where and how do I get 64 bit drivers for an AMD Athlon X2 64-bit Inspiron to run under XP 64-bit O/S? When I go to the Drivers download and attempt to use the drivers that come up there by selecting XP as the O/S, most of the drivers will NOT install under the 64 bit O/S.
There doesn't seem to be any option to be able to select 64-bit drivers (things like the NIC, the Video, etc.). How do I get these?
Help MUCH appreciated.

No idea. This is a used machine that I am helping a female friend out with to get an O/S installed on. The XP x64 O/S installs no problem, but drivers is the issue.

Windows always installs fine.
The problem is always created by the drivers :)

Here is a suggestion, why dont you switch over to the 32bit version of XP?
WinXP 64bit had know compatibility issues...
32bit is best when it comes to Windows XP

Again, doesn't address the actual question.

I did 'address' your actual question earlier.
And i am doing the same again.
If the system is not compatible (compatibility with reference to your drivers.) with windows XP 64bit nothing can be done.
Your only option is go to AMD website and try your luck there with an the video card driver.
The same for the NIC manufacturer.
Do revert back to this POST if you have other questions.
Cheers.
