XPS 1330 will not turn on

In trying to turn on my XPS laptop today it would not turn on.  Absolutely no lights or anything to indicate it was ever turned on.  The AC adapter shows the blue light when plugged into the wall however once I plug it into the computer the blue light goes out.  I have tired to plug it into the laptop both with and without the battery in it.  The battery shows all 5 lights lit when the status bar is pushed.  The computer will not start with either the battery alone or with the ac adapter.  Tech support did change my mother board within the last 6 months under warrenty but now say it is out of warrenty and they do not guarantee the new part for any length of time.  They want $60 to troubleshoot, but I cannot see how they can find anything I did not tell them

Have the exact same problem with my xps 1530 since yesterday. According to some other similar posts the problem is with some condesator on the motherboard. Some people managed to fix this problem by replacing the ´motherboard, but otherwise the laptop counts as dead when this occures.

When the adapter LED goes out on connection to the mainboard, the system board is faulty and needs to be replaced.
