Thank you for your quick response.

After “Dell Quickset” is installed on the computer, the following key combinations are used to enable or disable the keyboard backlight.

1. Press < Fn >< F6 > once to turn on the keyboard back light
2. Press < Fn >< F6 > second time to decrease the brightness of the keyboard back light
3. Press < Fn >< F6 > for the third time, turns off the keyboard back light.

Let’s try the following steps:

Open Windows Mobility Center to change the settings for keyboard backlight:

1. Touch  button to launch the Windows Mobility Center
2. Alternately you can use the key combination “Windows key + X” to launch Windows Mobility Center
3. The ‘Keyboard Brightness’ panel only shows a slider bar
   
   
    
   
   
4. Click on the small Laptop & Keyboard icon (as shown in the screenshot)
5. You can now adjust the time-out for the keyboard lighting in-activity fade out
   
    
   
   
6. Adjust the time interval by selecting it from the drop down menu
7. Specify “Never Off” to set an infinite timeout period

If the above steps do not work, then update the BIOS:

Note: Before updating BIOS please ensure that:
 *Battery is 10%> or >10% charged
*Battery charger should be connected
*No external devices (flash drives, printers, external hard drives) should be connected.
*All other programs should be closed and documents saved

1. Click on ‘Download File’
2. Save the File
3. Right click and choose ‘Run as Administrator’
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the program
5. Restart the computer
