XPS 1530 will not turn on
The lights come one for about two seconds then go off. The fan comes on and stays on. It was working fine last night.
I've tried removing the battery/adaptor and holding down the power button for over a minute.
I have no warrenty.
Any suggestions?

Reset the system - turn off, remove the battery and unplug. Hold the power button for 30 seconds. Try powering up again - if the system won't, it's the mainboard.

Try removing the battery and using just the adapter alone. If that works, replace the battery or leave it out and always use the adapter. If that doesn't work it could be the adapter or the motherboard.

Thanks. I've tried the adapter alone and it didnt work. I was afraid it would be the motherboard but I was hoping for an easier solution.
