XPS 15z keyboard backlighting not working

Hello! I just received my refurbished XPS 15z laptop and everything works great except for the the keyboard backlighting. I've read through all of the applicable threads, performed the recommended tasks and still it isn't working. Pressing FN + F6 does control the off/dim/medium/bright levels, as in, when I press these keys, I can see in the Windows Mobility screen that the levels are moving up and down. But the keyboard itself still doesn't light up. Am I missing something? Or do I have a busted keyboard? I'm not married to the backlighting but it would be nice to have a fully functioning computer!

Thanks for any help/advice you can offer.

Erin

I am the liason for Dell of the notebook forums. That sounds like the keyboard is defective.  If you wish send me a private message with the service tag along with your shipping and email address and phone number and I will research service options.

Hello:

I am having the same issue on a brand new laptop.  It worked when I first turned it on, but it hasn't worked since then.  I also bought this with Office 365 and there is nothing indicating a Service code # to get in to load it or use it.

Thanks
