XPS M1210 Not Working Properly After Dell Repair

I am trying to get my sister’s XPS M1210 laptop working after it was “repaired” by a Dell technician. The technician replaced several parts including the LCD display although I don’t have an exact list of what was replaced. Unfortunately it was working well enough for my sister to think the repairs had been completed properly but when she tried to use a printer several weeks later she found that no devices work on any USB ports. The warranty on the laptop ran out before she discovered this issue.

What seems like a simple driver update appears to be tricky since the new motherboard is a version ahead of the last BIOS available for the M1210. The motherboard is showing up as an MXC062 with BIOS version A09. There are (7) unknown devices listed under Universal Serial Bus Controllers that appear to be installed properly. (no flags indicating a wrong/missing driver)

I will probably just downgrade to XP but I’m afraid I might still have an issue with the drivers.

Anybody have any advice?
