XPS m1330 Delivery times

Hi foxyrider,

I haven't read of a battery shortage affecting Dell. When I ordered my XPS M1330 recently Dell made a point of highlighting a likely 4 week delay owing to my choice of a WLED screen (this warning has since been removed).

I ordered mine on 17/03 and had an estimated delivery of 08/04 (not including the 4 week delay), it arrived with me on 26/03 - and these dates included the Fri/Mon Bank Holiday.

Not sure if this helps as delivery times will obviously vary accoring to workload and the availablity of parts, but I think their initial estimate is only a guide.

The late delivery date is simply what I call their 'umbrella' date.

That is to say... it offers them leeway on delivery time.

 

As an example, I ordered a XPS 1730 on Firday 18th April, and the delivery date I was given suggested it could be "25th May" before it was delivered :smileysurprised:

However, it was delivered early the following week - on Tusday 22nd April :smileyhappy:

 

So it could be as late as the date suggested, but... unless there's a major shortage of one or other of the components... you're more likely to receive it a lot sooner than that :smileywink:
