XPs13 with USB Dock - Mouse randomly left clicks all the time
Hi
Ive seen loads of issues posted about the XPS13 track pad but mine is with an external mouse plugged in to either the laptop body (with the docking station still attached) OR the docking station itself.
Every few seconds the mouse will self left click meaning the focus of the cursor will either move to that point in the sentence and i start typing mid sentence or the window focus will change.
I've updated the trackpad driver to the latest one but the problem persists.
The DS has two screens, Keyboard, mouse and USB HEadset attached.
When i use the laptop standalone i have no issues at all with the trackpad.
anyone have any ideas as this is frustrating the hell out of me.
cheers
G

Did you ever find out how to solve the problem? I'm having the same problem with a Dell XPS 13 connected to a Dell docking station.
At least once a day it starts randomly clicking. If I open up the laptop, but leave it docked, the problem stops. But having to keep the laptop screen open while docked isn't exactly what I bought a docking station for. If I continue working with the laptop closed, the random clicking starts happening more frequently. If I disconnect my USB mouse, the clicking still continues.
I've updated drivers, rebooted, tried different mice, all to no avail.

Hello folks, I am glad I found this thread, because I thought I was going to go crazy.
Thanks for the tip on leaving the lid open, that does seem to have solved the problem for me, which leads me to believe maybe there is something in the lid that is interfering with track pad?
I am not using a docking station however, using a USB hub.
If I pull the USB hub and just connect the mouse into the laptop USB port, close the lid, the issue stops for me.
Again, not sure if Dell is watching this post, but seems we can't be the only customers with this irritating issue.

Same issue here. At random times the mouse starts acting like I clicked the left mouse button while plugged into the USB docking station. Opening the laptop solves the problem but then causes the mirroring on my second monitor not to work, so isn't really a solution.
Overall, I've found the XPS 13 to be extremely unreliable. I've had driver level problems ever since I got it, from ghost clicking when the touch screen is active, to problems with the touchpad and then this issue. I would not recommend it to anyone.
