audio & modem drivers!!!! Dell vostro A840

The reason the drivers are not compatable, is because they're for Vista - not XP :emotion-55:

Dell don't offer Windows XP drivers for the Vostro A840, so I assume it came with Vista pre-installed, but you chose to install XP yourself?

For that reason, you'll have to try and hunt down the drivers elsewhere - by Googling for them.

1. Download and install Compaq sp32646.exe [Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Bus Driver for HD Audio]


or go to Microsoft article 888111 and follow a link within the article to where you request the UAA file from Microsoft.

2.  Download and install Conexant XP audio driver for Inspiron 1410: R192894 (3.49.4.50, A01)

For the audio, follow the instructions in my post above. I think I have fixed the broken link. For the modem, try using the Conexant Modem CX20548-11Z  driver R190098. It is for the A840 with XP.
