its the ac -dc mains input but if you,ve never did this repair before i'm
afraid you can't help me ,this is one for the techs only.
come on dell what about some help on this design fault?
we can't all throw good mobo's away for the sake of a broken
dc input which was never up to the job.
thanks

ok thanks,i got the idea you couldn't help because you advised changing the mobo which works perfectly from the batt.what we need is the dc+ and - feed points for the mobo, its the three layered pcb thats causing the problems tracing the lines.
dell techs should have access to the relevant schematics, its a simple repair when you know which components need to be fed from the dc input. when i work this one out i'll post it with pics.changing the mobo aint a repair its an expensive waste.i've had this on a insp 4000 and others its a stock fault which should have been addressed long ago
come on dell guys who's gonna take this on.give us the info, these boards are giving you a bad name.
thanks for your time.

OK but I believe ALL THE TECHS on these boards will tell you the same thing. Oh and by the way where do you get the idea I'm not a tech and can't help you when my post was just about which DC input are you talking about.
Good luck
