cooling fan failure and disk check
I have a Dimension 8200. Everytime I reboot it says cooling fan failure. Is there a way to test the fan before i replace it.
The worst problem ever. Every time I reboot, my system want to do a disk check. I let it try several times before i have to skip it. It starts to run then i get the blue screen of death and it starts over and over and over. any ideals??????????????????

But, you need to post this question on the Dimension Board:)
As best as I can answer; you should be able to hear the fan and tell by the sound
that it is healthy or not, it may just have a buildup of dustbunnies blocking its
needed airflow. You should also have a Diagnostic Utility from Dell, if you can't
find it, go to "Desktops^" at top left corner of this page and navigate to
your Downloads & Driver website to get one.
As to your "...worst problem ever. ..." Backup any data on that drive that you
don't want to lose, as that looks like a warning of a failure on that Drive.
(Right click it in Windows Explorer and select "Tools; Backup" and create at least
a "Custom" backup of "Your Documents" and save to a created folder, then burn
that folder on to a blank, formatted, recordable CD) about 650MB maximum and
if your "Documents" backup is larger, edit it down in MS Backup first, or burn
a DVD.:)
