dell 7559 recurring BSOD driver_power_state_failure, auto-detect wants to reinstall same drivers over and over

Hi All,

I'm having repeated issues with my 7559 purchased earlier this year.  Repeated BSOD's, etc.  Here are the issues:

  1. BSOD stops with a driver power state failure message, then a screen that says it needs to reboot, "gathering information, will restart for you" but it never does.
  2. Ridiculously slow response from File Explorer (spinning blue wheel)
  3. Office slow to open
  4. Office & other apps fall into a "non responding" state frequently
  5. Dell driver auto-detect wants to install the same driver over and over, with or without repeated restarts, run as administrator, etc

Can someone please help?  I've tried everything I've found in forums and on the web.  Absent a resolution here, next step is a warranty return + eBay + buy another brand.

Thanks!

"Dell driver auto-detect wants to install the same driver over and over, with or without repeated restarts, run as administrator, etc"

Do you know which driver or drivers that keep repeating itself ? Please check in device manager and look for any yellow question mark or triangle. At the bottom, left of taskbar, right click windows logo, and then device manager. Please expand the drivers.

:emotion-2:

I'm assuming windows 10 is on the system....

Please type Troubleshooting Control Panel onto [Cortana} search box, click 'View All', and then run Blue screen troubleshooting.

Hey, thanks for the reply.  Ran the troubleshooter with no results.  It basically said it couldn't find anything.

It's the Intel Serial IO Driver, version 40.100.1519.7, A00.  Release date 10-7-2016

And, yes, W10 (BIG surprise).  I checked for yellow triangles in Device Manager.  No triangles but I actually don't see this driver anywhere.  Is that odd?

Just to be sure, in device manager, you expanded System Devices and then search for Intel Serial IO Driver, version 40.100.1519.7, A00, but didn't see this driver, correct ? If no, at device manager taskbar (keep System devices expanded or open), click on Action, and then click "Scan For Hardware Changes". Hopefully driver will appear.

Hey thanks again for the reply LSU.  That's the exact driver I've installed over and over, and yet the auto-detect wants to install it again.

Unfortunately, I don't even see System Devices in Device Manager :

According to the file dump, the system is experiencing a problem with the Chipset driver (Intel Serial IO Driver), version 30.100.1519.7 ,A00. I'd suggest powering off system and then disconnect all peripherals. Power on system again, boot into windows, and then go to your Dell Product Support page. In support page, expand Chipset and then install Intel Serial IO driver, see link below:

If the error still occurred then I suggest you update System Setup(BIOS). Please follow steps in link below to safety installed BIOS:
