Yes, I have a 64 bit version of Windows, and which is the capacity of your hard drive?

Yes, it'll take 8G. To use more than 4, though, you must have a 64 bit version of Windows - if it's 32-bit, you can't use more than 4G.

Right. You need a 2 x 4GB RAM. Use SODIMMS.

Hi
My name is Shrikant and I work for the Social Media and Community Team at Dell.
The suggestions that have been given are correct.
As you have XPS 1340 , so the maximum cacapcity for RAM is 8GB.
There are 2 slots so you can put 4GB in each of the slots.
The memory card that your system supports is SDRAM-DDR3 1066MHz.
Reply us if you need any other help.
Thanks

Hi ,
This is Sushant and I am working Dell Community Forum
As I can see you are using Xps 1340 and you have question if you can use 8 GB of RAM or not , so the answer is yes Studio XPS 1340 supports upto 8 GB or RAM.
And Yes it will improve your systems performance considerably , not only with Outlook 2007 but with all other applications too.
You can go for 8 GB RAM and to place the order you can refer to WWW.dell.com
please make sure that you have the service tag of your system handy while placing order for the parts.
and if you have the warranty on the system you call call the dell tech support # which is 1800-624-9897 to help you install the RAM on your computer, or even you can follow our free support website which is www.support.dell.com for steps regarding how to install RAM on your computer.
Hope this works for you.
