disable / change touchpad D630 windows 7
I would like to be able to disable / change the touchpad on the company supplied D630 windows 7 but the standard functionality adjustment is not available. (I am regularly inadvertantly touching the touchpad wheil typing - thus messing up data input.) I have updated the drivers but no help. TY

Dick W,
Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum,
Look in the mouse properties, buttons. Here you will see 3 areas to disable the touchpad. I have included a pic of the settings.

TY for replying Jesse. As I stated in the original post, the normal functionality allowing touchpad disable is not thereThere is no way in the / area to adjust the touchpad currently. (Not sure how to insert a picture into this post.) . I'm assuming that when my office laoded Windows 7, this funcrtiionality was somehow eliminated.

This question was never answered. I too am having the same issue. After installing Windows7 the touch pad is too sensitive, but the GUI interface to configure it is no where to be found. Is there a Windows 7 GUI tool that can be installed (or the old one re-installed) to allow me to configure the pad?

I am having the same issue. After installing Windows 7 on my Dell D630 Latitute I can no longer disable the touchpad. I've tried everything.

About a month after I posted my question I did some more searching and found a driver. The touchpad needs an up to date ALPS driver. Once I knew what to search for many people pointed to the HP supported driver http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&softwareitem=ob-65035-1 Download sp40715.exe and install it. It works great.

Install Dell's version of the driver and not HP.

This driver is for Windows 2000, Windows Vista 32-bit and Windows XP
