disable win8 gestures on touchpad
I do not want to disable the touchpad. I want to set the touchpad so that when I swipe my finger across it laterally in an effort to move the mouse across the screen the motion does not inadvertently cause the charms bar (right-to-left motion) or the previous task (left-to-right motion) to pop up on the screen. Does anyone know if this can be done? Or how to do it? Thanks!

When on the desktop, click the upward pointing arrow at the bottom right (show hidden icons)
In there should be one for Dell Touchpad, rich click it and select touchpad properties
when this opens select the gestures option, here you can turn off the swipe from right, left or top

Hi G-Eden,
I would like to know the system model of the computer. Also please elaborate on the feature you are looking for on the touchpad.

To clarify - it is not a feature I am looking -for- on the touchpad. It is
a "feature" that already exists that I wish did not -- specifically, a
swipe from the right side of the touchpad onto the touchpad produces the
Win8 Charms bar on the right-hand side of the screen. Unfortunately, I am
hitting the "magic spot" almost every time I simply try to move the cursor
across the screen from right to left. I really would like to turn off the
Win8 Charms accessibility from sweeping the touchpad. The same goes for the
left-to-right swipe, which produces the previous task. I find myself
"accidentally" leaving the task I am working on simply by trying to move
the cursor across the screen from left to right. I would appreciate knowing
if there is a way to stop this action, If not, I would like to communicate
to Dell Computers that this is a very annoying characteristic and it would
be very helpful to make it optional, not permanently built in. Thank you.
