driver fails on windows start up
When i turn my laptop on sometimes i get a blank screen instead of my desktop, and i have to power off and turn on again, but sometimes the screen goes blank just for a short time then i get a message saying display driver failed to respond or stopped working windows xp driver and has recovered, why has it got an xp driver when im running windows 7

Windows 7 Pro and Windows 7 Ultimate have XP mode.
You have not provided basic information and therefore any response would be purely a guess at best.
Dell Model Number?
Windows OS version?
Service Pack 1,2,3?
What is the Exact Error message?

X64 versions of windows will REFUSE to allow unsigned drivers to install.
