eSATA Port not working in Dell Precision M6600
I just purchased a LaCie d2 quadra 3TB HDD and connected to Dell Precision M6600 through eSATA Port, but it is not recognised. I then conneced the same hard drive to a Dell Studio Laptop through eSATA port and it is recognised and functioning well. What is the problem with Dell Precison M6600's eSATA Port and how can be solved.

I solved this problem by myself.
Go to BIOS setings
Go to System Configuration
Now go to SATA Operation and choose AHCI ooption
Doing this detects the eSATA Device.

I went to System Configuration and changed SATA Operations to AHCI and it appears that my computer boot sector was destroyed. It would not boot in AHCI (all that I got was a flashing dash on the screen) and when I put it back to RAID (the drives were not in RAID mode originally) it won't boot either, with the error message:

Any ideas how to get my computer to boot now?
I am afraid that I lost everything trying to get the eSATA port to work so I could do a backup. Yikes!

I ended up having to restore from backup using Acronis to recover from this fatal error of changing SATA Operations.
I changed the SATA Operations on M6600 to AHCI in the BIOS, then restored to bare metal on a new hard drive to recover the fatal error of changing SATA Operations to AHCI from RAID on my existing hard drive. The old drive with all programs and data was total loss. Ouch!
The eSATA port is suppose to work in RAID mode but it does not. eSata port does work in AHCI mode, but don't change SATA Operations from RAID to AHCI without having a serious backup where you can restore to a bare metal hard drive.
