I recommend you to uninstall and reinstall the fingerprint reader driver to fix the problem.

To uninstall follow the below steps:

1. Click “Start”.
2. Click “Control Panel” and select “Device Manager”.
3. On the “Device Manager” window, expand Biometric Devices.
4. Right click “Validity Sensor” and click “Uninstall”.
5. Ensure to check the box “Delete driver software for this device”.
6. Follow the on-screen instructions to uninstall the drivers.
7. Restart the computer.

To reinstall the finger print driver follow the below steps:

1)       Use the following link to download the Fingerprint reader driver: http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/DriverDetails/Product/vostro-3350?driverId=TKW61&osCode=ww1&fileId=2731100530

2)       Select Download file.

3)       Once the download is completed, run the driver file.

4)       Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

5)       Restart the computer.

2. Click “Get driver”.
3. Click “Continue”.
4. Follow the on screen instructions to download the drivers and install it in the computer.
5. Restart the computer to save changes.

Now check the functionality of the fingerprint reader and reply for further help.

Help, I am unable to find fingerprint software for my Core i7 Vostro 3350 (Win7 Pro OS). Seems I bought 2011 laptop instead of new model as what it was claimed by the owner. The drivers seems to be fine but no software.

I am unable to find fingerprint reader. Heard someone said for my Vostro3350 are using Digital Persona software. Was it correct.
