keyboard status lights vostro 1720
Im very new to forums, can anyone help me ? I have a vostro1720. keyboard status lights that is in a looks like a padlock with a 9 in the middle keeps on flashing. what does these mean ?

Hello,
If number 9 padlock is flashing, it shows problem with memory , Either the memory is faulty or if you have changed the memories recently it might be a non compatible memory.
Please try to reseat the memory module.
If there are two memories, try with 1 memory at a time on both slots just to ensure the slots are fine.

Thanks for your promt reply,this now creates a new problem for me ,am I able to fix ? it if so how do I find out how to ? or am I better off taking it to a Teck ? it has now stoped flajust light up.shing

Hello,
I would suggest you to troubleshoot yourself first, so you can make out what is causing trouble, whether memory or motherboard.
If it leads to memory, you can purchase the memory and install it yourself.
If it leads to motherboard, then you can give it for servicing.
Regarding user manual for your manual, please click on link below and click on adding and replacing parts, then go to memory section.
