memory upgrade for B120

Last night I installed new memory to my laptop--one GB in each designated slot, being careful to do dimm A first as specified. Afterwards I rebooted computer, went to help and support and the new memory is showing as 1536 MB. Is this normal? Shouldn't it be 2048 MB?  Should I take the memory out and re-install?  This was my first memory upgrade. Thanks.
