my network card is turned off.... =(
hello everybody!!!!
i have a dell notebook inspiron 300m... it has windows xp (the basic one)
and i cant turn on my network card on.... i have tried everything, i have downloded lots of drivers in the dell page, but nothing!!!! and i connect my ethernet cable so i can connet to my dsl and nothing...
please i need help!!!!!!!

Check the BIOS to see if the network card is enabled. You can enter the BIOS setup menu by clicking F2 when you see the Dell logo on your screen at boot up. If it is enabled in the bios go to start/control panel/switch to classic view/system/hardware tab/device manager and click on the plus sign next to network adapters and see if your network card is listed without an X or ! mark. If so plug in the cable from your modem to your network jack on the computer and see if you get a link light on the jack. If not then I would suggest you replace the cable. If you try a new cable and you still do not get a link light, then your nic has probably gone out.
