I bought my daughter the N4010 about a year ago and now the display blanks out and grays out more often then not.I have already upgraded the bios but not sure if the screen or the hinges may be the problem as when I move the screen it usually comes back on. is there a good way
to troubleshoot?

Reseat both ends of the cable that runs between the mainboard and display panel. Check the cable for damage - if it is damaged, replace it with a new one.
If that doesn't solve the problem, replace the screen.
If the system is less than a year old, Dell will repair it under warranty.
