replacing cooling fan (part# 1191T)

My Dell Lattitude CPxJ650GT's fan is on most of times and it is loud.  I call tech support and they gave me a part (part # 1191T) to replace it.     My questions are:

1- the quote is for quantity of 3.   Does this part comes in 3 parts?   or am I suppose to buy one?

2- where can I find the instructions on how to replace the cooling fan?  will it come with the part?

3- anyone else have encountered the same problem?  how do you fix the loud cooling fan problem?

Appreciate the help,

Douglas

Douglas,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.
1191T...Thermal cooling assembly (includes fan, fan shroud and heat sink)
You should only have to purchase one of these, as it is a kit and you will get all the parts listed above.
Instructions for replacing these parts are here.
Over time the ball bearing in a fan will wear out, or the fan will become unbalanced, and this is what caused the
fan to run louder. You can try cleaning the fan if dust has gathered on it and is causing the fan to wobble.
Your other options are simply to replace the fan.
