thermal grease or thermal pad?

i have an inspiron 9300 laptop.  does it use thermal pad or does it use thermal grease between the cpu and the heatsink?  is the thermal compound applied only on the cpu core or is it applied both on the cpu core and the cpu module?     help is always appreciated!

If it's thermal compound, you should only apply it on the CPU....Be carefull not to put too much or too little.It should only be the amount of a small pea.Spread it untill it's a eaven layer, but be carefull not to get any on the outside of the area on wich the heatsink is touching.If it's a thermal pad it should be simpler, but you would have to get the correct one.Hope this helps.
