upgrade Inspiron 1501 hdd to 7200 rpm

I have an Inspiron 1501 that has a Samsung HM060HI hdd--5400 rpm. The computer has gotten a bit slow, and I"m thinking of swapping out the hdd for a faster, 7200 rpm model. My question is--would that cause overheating (or better--make the computer run hotter than it does now)? It would be a new hdd (presumably from newegg), its not like I have an older model lying around, if that would matter.

While the 7200 rpm drive will improve speeds loading programs and data, it will not speed up your computer much. A very full hard drive will slow down access, but normal operation will not change. You need to go through and clean out junk and programs that are loaded initially, but really are not needed.
