9300 recording issues with Sony ECM-MS907 Mic
I have been trying to record music into my Dell 9300 through the inbuilt sound card with annoying results.
The microphone level is very low unless I use the windows mixer 10db boost, which results in recordings with a _lot_ of hiss.
I was wondering:
1. Does anyone record successfully using the inbuilt soundcard? What microphone do you use, if so?
2. Has anyone had any good experiences with an external sound card with or without the sony ecm-ms907 microphone?
Thanks very much!

If you want a mic to connect directly to the 9300, it should be MONO, and it's best if it's a 'computer' or mini disk type mic, meaning the type that is powered by the small bias voltage supplied by the mic jack. Unpowered mics like handheld dynamics will work but not as well.
