Cleaning Off Oil On i8500 Laptop Keyboard

Hello guys,

I'm new the keyboard/mouse forum, but I'm wondering if anyone has figured out a way to get rid of the shiny oily spots on keyboards from finger's typing. I have spots on my spacebar, w,s,a,d and some of the top keys. How can I clean this stuff off to get rid of the glossy look and make it match the normal matte look of the rest of my lesser-used keys?

My only ideas are dishwashing detergent, but I don't know if that's damaging to the plastic or not. Thanks in advance!

PS - If i used dishwashing detergent and it doesn't work, can I CompleteCare the keybaord back?

You may want to contact Dell directly to have your system serviced.

Further investigation on my keyboard at home shows that it's more of a weardown on whatever black coating is over the plastic. I'm assuming this is the same for my Dell keyboard. I have nothing against system service if I am able to do it myself. I've already gone through 2 LCDs, one for a white line and the other for a darkened right area, and serviced them at home. Not to mention upgrading my video card on my own.

My current guess is that this is wear on the keyboard from my typing. Would I get a new keyboard, new keys, or just a "normal use" excuse if I called Dell? I don't want to call tech support twice in one day for nothing.
