Dell Inspiron 1545 Battery Remplacement?
Hi!
I bought an Inspiron 1545 3 years ago and so far it worked perfectly. However, the system battery LED has recent started to blink 4 times orange and then one time white; according to this page (http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/kcs/document?c=us&l=en&s=gen&docid=DSN_12FCCAA558727884E0401E0A55172D6B&isLegacy=true) it means my battery has a temporary failure.
What does it mean exactly? My battery is the one which came with the computer (48WHR 6-CELL,LION), I've never changed it. Is there something I should do? Do I have to buy another battery? If so, can my Inspiron work with this one :
even if it's a 85 WHr, 9-Cell battery?

Hi
It’s possible that one of the cells might have worn out, thus the battery’s Built-in hardware is indicating it by flashing the LED orange. The battery would still charge and you will be able to use the system on the battery as well. But ultimately you might have to replace the battery. You can purchase the 85WHR 9-Cell battery as it does work with Inspiron 1545 laptops. This battery is slightly different in appearance as compared to the regular 6-Cell battery, however is has a better backup.
