Dell Inspiron 9400 screen problem
Hello everyone,
Last Tuesday, on the left hand side of the screen, a vertical black stripe about one and a half inches wide appeared, the following day this had changed to a thin vertical black line appeared down the middle of the screen.
I have ran the full diagnostic tests and they all came up "passed"
This line is not affecting the running of the laptop but I fear it may get worse.
I have tried everywhere for a solution to no avail.

The screen needs to be replaced.

Thank yo for your reply.
As you have decided the screen needs to be replaced and I don't want to spend that amount of money I will use it as it is until it gives out.

Hi,
Thank you for writing to us.
This issue could be with the Video driver or the screen .Please go the Device manager screen and check if all the drivers are updated.If it is then it could be an issue with the screen.
It would help if you could send us a Private message with a screen shot of the issue,Service tag and the address where the system is currently located in case of a service call.

Complete, used Inspiron 9400 systems start at about $50-100 on EBay -- find one with a working screen and swap it yourself, and you also have a supply of other repair parts on hand.
