Inspiron Keyboard - number keys do not work (E1505 / 6400)
I have a Dell Inspiron E1505 / 6400 and noticed that certain number keys on the keyboard intermittently flake out. Right now, I cannot use 1,2,3,4,7,8,9,0, and some of the F-keys on the laptop keyboard. Holding down 5,6,7,8 results in "=" printing out on the screen. However I have attached a USB keyboard that I normally use, and all the keys function properly (which is how I can type in 7, 8, 9, 0). Does anyone know what is going on? Is it a keyboard hardware failure? This is an intermittent thing. Sometimes the keys work again.

I've had the same problem with my four month old inspiron 1525. I ran the diagnostics check and keyboard check and passed both. The problem is still there however. Any ideas for a solution?? The problem is intermittent and thus I'll be wasting my time sending it back. Are there any patches available as it is clear there are many instances of this problem.

Is anyone from Dell going to bother to answer the post below?
I am using the on screen keyboard to type. My keyboard passed the keyboard test and yet the problem is still there.
I would actively discourage anyone about to buy a Dell computer as they are no good and there i no support.
Rubbish rubbish rubbish. Fit for the bin and nothing else. I bought it in January and it's utter junk.
Dell? A reply would be courteous.
