Latitude D420 No Power
Greetings,
I have been using a dell latitude d420 over years with a Windows 7 OS and when i shut it down, i close the lid immediately. after that it won't turn on anymore..
I press the power button and the only one lights up is the power indicator (blinking continuously when pressing) . I also tried to remove the battery and connect it to the AC adaptor and it has no changes.
Hoping for some suggestions,
Jimmuel -_-

Hi Jimmuel,
Breathing Power light indicates the computer is in Standby mode.
Try scrolling on the touchpad or hit any key, the display should come up.
If the issue persists, I recommend you to remove the battery and disconnect the adapter, press and hold the power button for few seconds to drain the flea power .Now put back the battery and connect the adapter and power on the computer.
Awaiting your response!

Hello Rajesh,
The power lights doesn't breathe anyway, it only blinks if it is pressed.
I tried to remove the battery and remove the power flea, but still nothing happens.
Thanks for the suggestion,
-Jimmuel

Hi Jimmuel,
Try reseating the hard drive. Below link would help you in reseating the hard drive:
ftp.dell.com/.../latitude-d420_Service%20Manual_en-us.pdf
Note: Reseat the hard drive if you are comfortable in doing so.
I recommend running diagnostics on the computer. Power off the computer and then power on by holding the FN and Power button simultaneously.
Let the diagnostics run. This would isolate the issue.
Awaiting your response!
