Lattitude 5285 supported external displays
HI, I'm thinking about picking up a 5285, but need to understand what the 5285 can use for external displays, and how to do it before purchasing.
I currently have a U3011 2560x1600 display. Will it work?
I'd like to switch this to run a dual of 1920x1200 displays. Will this work? If so, what is the recommended port replicator for this?
I've asked online chat a couple of times. One said no on the 1920x1200, one 1080 only. Another first said no on dial displays, then, technically 2 1920x1200 is possible but there may be problems. I'm using this for work and not playing games on this setup, so I don't care how fast the displays are as long as they are not laggy system performance does not suffer much, and can play a youtube video.

Hi Jeff,
The Latitude 5285 ships with Intel i3/i5/i7 processor and Intel HD 620 graphics based on the region. Kindly find the specifications here.
Even if you choose the i3 processor - 7100U, as per Intel, it supports a maximum of 3 displays and it also supports 4k display. Kindly review the info from Intel here.
The compatible docks have been listed here.
The system however, has 2 DisplayPort over USB Type C ports and I suppose, you would not need a dock if you are going to connect two displays.

Is it correct to say that a D6000 will support dual displays if plugged into one of the USB-C ports of the 5285, as well as charge the 5285?

The Lat 5285 when connected to the D6000 dock will charge the system whilst providing display.

Thanks for checking on this. To clarify, w/ the D6000, it'll will work for dual external displays?

From my earlier response, as per Intel, it will support 2 displays without a dock connected, since the 5285 comes with 2 display ports over USB Type C.
