PLEASE help!! my laptop keeps restarting when trying to reinstall windows!!!
Hey guys how are you? I have had an issue with my Latitude d630 so i decided to reformat it without the restore cd because i lost it so i fomatted the computer with a windows xp cd i have and halfway to the format the computer just shuts down!! like sometimes when the latop is loading the windows components from my cd the computer shuts down, one time ive gone past the loading then formating then when its installing the computer shuts down. ive made sure that all the bios components and settings are loaded as default but still no way to fix this!! someone please help me if youve experienced something like this, thank you!

where can i download this dell diagnostics? is it a boot disc? because my computer doesnt go past the dell screen i cant get to windows since its "formated"

thanks so i downloaded the diagnostics graphic one my computer shuts off.... like 15 mins into what i was doing.
and the partition diagnostic is not a boot, what can i do

also when i try running the partition diagnostic with boot it says no kernel

It sounds like the system is overheating. Clean the heatsink-fan assembly -be sure it is free of dust that will insulate it and prevent it from doing its job.

do you have any idea or a guide on how to unassemble the laptop? or do i just have to unscrew the screws that are below it and go from there? sorry ive never done this and i really want to get this fixed :(
