Toggle to USB Speakers Dell XPS M1330

I can not find a way to toggle sound between my internal speakers and external USB speakers except by reboot the PC.  Is there a way to select to use internal or external speakers without a re-boot, please?  Dell XPS M1330   Cary

Cary,

Your usb speakers are a separate audio device from your internal Sigmatel audio system. You have to set the usb speakers to be your default audio device. The setting should be in the audio control panel (right click the speaker icon on the taskbar). When you want to toggle between the internal and external then reset the default ... you should not have to reboot but I might be wrong about that. I have a usb sound card and I don't have to reboot to use it.
