d600 latitude password reset or master password
bought it from the flea market it was on and working at the flea market i paid $450.00 for it and then i get it home and tried to turn it on and now the freekin thing says i need a stinkin password lol on some white screen and protected by some service tag thinggie 7LY1**- 595b can someone please help me i don't want to loose $450.00 as for this guy has realy made me mad he is no longer there and the market says they notrespociable for his actions and nor do they know his where abouts!

The only way that you can get a Master Password is to contact Dell directly by phone.
Before they will give it to you, you will have to prove that you are the rightful owner of the notebook.

the only thing that i had was a small receit that said $450.00 other then that i have nothing then any other suggestions please

If you're going to open it up to replace the MB then why not just use the password reset jumper?

The D Series notebooks do not have a password reset jumper. That is why.
The use of the password is there to discourage someone from stealing the notebook.
And if they do steal it, it prevents the theft of the information on the hard drive.
