how to solve the "memory write/read failure"?
hi supporters, the obligatory question:
what to do when this appears after booting the laptop:
"memory write/read failure at 08801FB4, read 006F806F expecting 806F806F
Decreasing available memory
The amount of system memory has changed.
Strike the F1 key to continue, F2 to run the setup utility"
okay, i hit the F1 key, but it booted and booted and booted and no end on it without really been able to use windows...
then i hit the F2 key, but could not really understand all this technical terms therefore left it unchanged...
i read in the forum (several threads have been posted on that) that one should "Try reseating your memory modules" or do the dell diagnostics... as i am german speaking and do not understand most of the technical terms or even have a clue on where exactly the memory modules are i ask for some beginners help. thank you!!!

Hi,
You dont mention the model, but the memory is normally under a door underneath the computer. Reseat means taking it out, and putting back in. This will make sure you have a good connection. If you look at the Notebook Tab above, you can find manuals and download some Diagnostics.
