Why do you want to downgrade to XP?

In order to do so you're going to need to reformat the hard drive and repartition it to accept XP. You cannot simply install XP on top of Vista! That's why you're getting the blue screen. It's beyond the scope here to hold your hand in installing XP. Just do a google and you'll find what you're looking for. Good luck!

Someone got it working on Vista: http://www.mqseries.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=42561&sid=3bcafa94cd6302e01a3bb63705fe74da

Basically all he did was ran the program in compatibility mode for XP. Maybe give that a shot before you open a real nasty can of worms if you aren't 100% sure what you're doing? :)

Right On! :smileywink:
If you want to install XP check out the following link
I outlined the entire process (including the dual boot should you want it) in detail for an XPS M1530, the process would be very similiar for the M1210 the only difference being you can download drivers from:

TWO WORDS: DUAL BOOT

Easy to do and quick with your dell utilties disk that has drivers for XP and Vista all you will need to do is download the latest drivers if you need them.

Here's a good link:

http://apcmag.com/how_to_dual_boot_vista_and_xp_with_vista_installed_first__the_stepbystep_guide.htm

Just follow the info step by step, if you dont like this guide do another google search for dual booting vista with XP, there are plenty out there.

I did it for my gaming as Vista is a bloated OS.
