numbers and comma/period not working right

wife has a 1545 inspiron and apparently our kids did something to it because now when you type a number 12345 or the comma or period key they show the corresponding item above the key so you get !@#$%^&  <> instead.

For the life of me i can't figure out what they did something to do with a FN key I am guessing but anyone who can help greatly appreciated, she restarted and it wouldn't even let her put in her password correctly because one of the parts is a number, luckly i can still get in since my acct on there does not have a number, but even when I do get in i sure can't seem to figure out what combination of buttons or features were pressed to cause this.

I don't even see a number lock key, tried FN+F11, heck I dunno but i appreciate any help in getting this back to normal.
