XPS 8930, remove GTX 1050 Ti, add AMD Radeon RX 580, steps?

A friend gave me a Dell AMD Radeon RX 580 JTPTC. I want to replace my GTX 1050 Ti with this into my Dell XPS 8930 (8th gen i7 version). So far I've upgraded the ram to 32GB and installed an 1TB NVMe as my main drive. Is there anything I need to be aware of before I install the AMD video card? I'm trying to find an article detailing steps on replacing a Nvidia video card with an AMD video card. Like steps for uninstalling old drivers, etc. Anything I'm missing that would be obvious to someone who knows more about PC upgrades would be super helpful!

Thanks in advance.

Before removing the old card, go into Device Manager and find its entry under Display Adapters. Right-click that entry and select Uninstall Device. Then shut down and swap cards.

Instructions to replace video cards are in the XPS  8930 Service Manual. Be sure to read and follow the NOTE before starting the swap. The instructions are generally the same regardless of NVidia or AMD cards but there are some differences between removing/installing a short graphics card vs removing/installing a full-length card, but that's spelled out in the manual. I don't know the sizes of these 2 cards, so if one is longer than the other, follow the appropriate instructions for each card.

There's also the possibility one card uses an extra power cable directly from the PSU and the other card may not use that extra cable, or may need a different connector, eg, 4-pin vs 6-pin. So do some homework on whether either of these cards needs that extra connection and which connector they use.

After the card is replaced and cable connected, if necessary, close up and reboot the PC. Win 10 should spot the new hardware and install the drivers for it.
