Can DELL Latitude 5490 support to install 2nd SSD?

my Dell Latitude 5490 exceeded all my expectations. I am very satisfied with the performance of all tasks.

However, the 256GB of SSD storage (M.2) limits somewhat.
I want to know if I can install a second solid SSD disk in addition to the M.2 I already have.

A second 1TB SSD was installed, see the parts:

1. mSATA SSD - note that this is specifically for mSATA connectors, not M.2 / NGFF / PCIe.
2. mSATA to SATA adapter
3. Dell SATA cable, part 80RK8 or 080RK8

Installation is unconventional. An adaptation was made.

My question is: Does the Dell Latitude 5490 accept a SECOND SSD on the Jsata port (as it was done in this tutorial) with 1TB of capacity?
I think I read somewhere that the Dell Latitude 5490 does not accept more than 480gb of storage.
Does this confer? Is there such a limitation?

How fast will it read and write?
And the temperature?

As I already said, I am very happy with my Dell 5490 and do not want to make any adjustments that could compromise the service life, temperature, and especially worse reading and writing speed.

Hi I by passed the msata to sata adapter part by using a Samsung Evo 860 500 gb SSD. If you take it out of the SSD case the PCB is about a quarter of the size, I put insulating tape on it, I have the i5 8350u CPU.

Instead of installing a second ssd why don't you replace the existing sata m2 drive with a bigger nvme m2 drive?

The jngff slot than now occupies your sata drive can be used for pcie nvme as well. I replaced it in mine with a samsung evo nvme m2 drive. It's plug and play. When you enter the bios you can see the sata info as "none" and the pcie info as the drive's serial. As I found out the limitation in sata is 500GB and in pcie is 1TB.
