Hi, can I upgrade the cpu of my E7440 from i7-4600u to a quad core no ulv cpu?
And if yes which I should try?

@Giammaz94,
Our external documentation is vague on this but the E7440 does not support quad core processors.
The next closest models with Quadcore support that I could find are, the E5470 and E5570.

Thanks for reply. Is a bios issue? Which kind of cpu could I use to improve the performance?

I am looking for the answer also for what CPU can it be upgraded to because with mine the power supply light turns off when I plug it in and they are saying that I need to replace the main board. Do they offer better processors for this board?
Also, is the power issue repairable by replacing chips or do you have to replace the motherboard?
