Dell Latitude e6420 graphics driver
Ok so I’ve had a Dell Latitude e6420 ( the model with i5 2520m and Intel HD 3000 graphics card) for a while now. Since the device was getting slower I thought a new and bigger HDD would speed things up. I popped in my new hard drive and installed Windows 10. Every other driver I installed worked fine, other than the graphics driver. Whenever I try to install that, I get an error saying that ‘Your system does not meet the minimum requirements for this software’. Now temporarily to fix the situation and so that applications atleast open up to an extent, I extracted the driver’s zip file which I downloaded from Intel’s website and used the ‘have disk’ method to install it. After that windows auto updated it. However I seem to be having trouble. Applications that require OpenGL are really not functioning properly. For example minecraft fails to load and gives me an error for OpenGL, while Adobe After Effects is clunky and slow. So slow that i cant even preview properly. Now I know the device is old but before changing the HDD, I had the same applications installed and they were quite faster( other than minecraft). I’ve scoured through the internet now and have tried every fix but to no avail. Kindly help me fix this problem. If you require any other details, I’ll give then promptly. Also, yes I’ve installed the chipset drivers and all the updates that were required from the product’s page on Dell’s support website
