FN Key Lock with F1-F8 and F10-F12

Hi,

I recently suggested my company to buy a new Latitude 3420. As a standard laptop user, I use office applications a lot. And the most common keys I use on the keyboard are:

- F2 (to access edit mode for the excel cells)

- home/end (well to navigate in the cells or texts that I'm writing-editing)

So, when I disable the FN-Lock to use F2 directly, I have to hit FN+home/end keys. Then, if I enable FN-Lock to use home/end directly, I have to do FN+F2.

While I'm writing this I realized that, home/end functions are on the same level (primary-secondary function) as multimedia functions. So, what my Dell is doing is correct. But, from a user point of view, this is not meaningful & user-friendy and it drives me crazy.

Any workaround other then using an external USB keyboard?

To work around this behavior, press the F LOCK key. The F LOCK key switches between the standard function key commands and the Microsoft keyboard enhanced command.
