Lattitude E5570 Windows Activation
I have a gifted refurb laptop and downloaded and install Windows 10 Pro according to service tag from Dell.
Wanted to get it to original factory state.
But somehow the Windows do not want to activate.
Have searched other solutions on the forum, but none wants to work.
I have tried the key from ShowKeyPlus, but this does not work either.
Please help!

Contacted local Dell agent and he confirmed the motherboard was replaced.
The Windows Key was given in hardcopy to the IT representative on site.
Solution was to buy a new Windows copy with key.

Anyone else in the community that can help?
Dell was quick to respond, but it seems you have to pay to get the required information.

Hello,
use MS Media Creation Tool for W10 from here:
https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=691209
or use MS Media Creation Tool for W11 from here:
https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2156295
use RUFUS to create a bootable USB stick, select FAT32 / GPT / UEFI
Use this cab to install all drivers afterwards

Drop me a line, if you need further help in this case
Regards
Peter

Use the service tag to look up the original operating system that shipped with the system (dell.com/support).
Most Latitudes are purchased for businesses -- and many of these provide Windows licenses by volume license key, meaning the license key is not part of the mainboard as it is with a retail system. If so, you'll need to purchase a full license of Windows 10 Pro for the system.

He has installed Windows 10 Pro . It won't activate.
And the reason is most likely what @ejn63 wrote.
If there is a valid key on the motherboard, it would activate. I have bought used laptops on eBay where the hard drive was wiped. I installed Windows 10 on them, and Windows 10 activated once the laptops were connected to the internet.

Thank you for the reply.
Yes that is exactly what I did.
I seems the Dell recovery O/S and key don't match

What OS shows as having shipped with the system? The other issue could be if the system had a mainboard replacement from Dell during its lifetime. Such boards do not usually come with pre-installed keys -- they're shipped out on a card with the system at the time of repair.
