Original configuration
I would like to know the original factory configuration of my 10 year old dell latitude d520 with service tag REMOVED, the laptop currently not in working state that is the reason am asking the configuration details, so that I can give it some new lease of life by sourcing appropriate broken components.
Please help me folks.

You can find that out by going to support.dell.com, entering your Service Tag, clicking System Configuration, and then selecting Original Configuration. However, you may find it hard to find parts for a system that old, and even if you could, the replacement costs would probably as high or even higher than simply buying a used PC. If you're in the US, retailers like Discount Electronics sell systems that have come off of corporate lease, so they're in pretty good shape and they're more durable business-grade systems to begin with. You'll get a significantly faster system (especially if you upgrade to an SSD) and a newer version of Windows that's still being supported by Microsoft.

Hi,
I've just tried to find the current configuration for my old Vostro 420. This doesn't now show on the Dell support website. I last got this info in August 2017. is there a reason why I can't get it now please?
