Latitude 3540, unable to update BIOS A18

Hello,

I am trying to update the bios on a Latitude 3540. I have downloaded the latest A18 update (laptop is currently on A06) and booted from a Dos based USB to run the executable. Once attempting to run I get the following error:

I have checked and the device does have a service tag, it doesn't have a bios password, and Virtualization is disabled. Is there anything else I can check, the original issue was I could not pxe boot the device to install a new operating system via MDT and wanted to update the bios as there are no options to enable network booting/network stack etc in this A06 bios.

It may not have a BIOS (powerup) password, but does it have an administrator password?

If it does, that will need to be removed before you update the BIOS.

After adding an bios password then removing password and a few reboots, it finally accepted the bios update. Thread can be closed
